Sour Cream

Plain sour cream is safe for dogs in very small amounts. It is cultured, which lowers lactose somewhat, but it remains high in fat. It is often used as a food topper, but there are healthier options.

Sour cream dips and loaded baked toppings frequently contain onion, garlic, chives, bacon, and salt, all of which are unsafe. Cats can have a tiny amount of plain sour cream on occasion.
