Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is a succulent widely grown for its soothing gel, which is used in many skin products. While the inner gel is sometimes considered safe for topical use on pets, ingestion of the leaf latex or large amounts of the plant can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and changes in urine color.

Pets that chew aloe leaves may experience gastrointestinal upset. The bitter taste usually limits the amount consumed. Keep aloe plants out of reach, and avoid letting pets lick aloe gel products that may contain alcohol or other additives.
