ZZ Plant

ZZ plants are popular for their glossy, dark-green foliage and ability to thrive in low light with minimal water. All parts of the plant contain calcium oxalate crystals, which can irritate a pet's mouth and digestive tract if chewed.

Most exposures are mild and resolve without treatment, but the discomfort can be enough to deter future nibbling. Due to the plant's toughness, large ingestions are uncommon. Keep ZZ plants on high surfaces or behind barriers to prevent chewing.
