Coffee
Coffee and coffee grounds are dangerous to pets because of their caffeine content. Dogs may be attracted to sweetened coffee drinks, while cats can be exposed through spilled espresso or used grounds. Caffeine toxicity progresses quickly and can cause hyperactivity, vomiting, tremors, seizures, and abnormal heart rhythms. Emergency treatment may include IV fluids and medications to control heart rate and seizures.
